Our initial report will show you the latest treatment developments, clinical trials, and other information that may lead you to a better treatment option. It will also provide you with a comprehensive understanding of your illness. Many of our clients have told us information they learned from their reports led them to a life-saving treatment that their doctor didn’t know about.
However, our initial report is only current as of the day it is created. As good as our reports are, they can’t include important new treatment developments announced after your initial report is created. That’s why we developed the Treatment Weekly Update (TWU), which searches for new treatment developments for your particular illness every day.
TWU is proprietary software designed to automatically search for new treatment information for our client’s particular illness, literally on a weekly basis. Specifically, it searches:
- Medline (PubMed)
- ClinicalTrials.gov
- PreMedline
The most innovative and unique feature of TWU is its ability to automatically search PreMedline. No other software has this capability. PreMedline is the first place where articles are placed when the National Library of Medicine receives them. They are put there before they are indexed by medical professionals, at which point they are moved to the Medline database. It can take anywhere from several weeks to several months before an article in PreMedline is fully indexed and moved to Medline. So by searching PreMedline weekly, you will get notice of important treatment developments, within days of when they become available.
PreMedline, by its nature, has the very latest medical information for all illnesses. Since PreMedline is not indexed, prior to TWU, finding articles that might reveal important treatment developments meant manually sifting through dozens of articles — hundreds if not searched every day. For example, there may be may be 25 or 30 new articles about an illness such as breast cancer added to PreMedline each day. Most of those articles will not be relevant to new treatment information for patients with breast cancer; they may involve test-tube, animal, prevention, and post-mortem studies. There will be reports on technical biochemical reactions, and more. Finding the one or two items that can make a real treatment difference involves scanning each one to discover which ones might be worth a closer look.
TWU searches and targets those reports that may be important to each of our clients based on our weekly search algorithm. It also performs weekly checks for new or updated clinical trials (in clinicaltrials.gov). What might take a human 30 or 45 minutes per day the software can do in seconds. We are constantly honing and improve our tool. We designed it to err on the side of inclusion, because it’s better to send you a few articles that don’t apply to your situation, than risk missing something that could save your life.
After TWU searches PreMedline and Clinicaltrials.gov, any and all new treatment information relevant to your illness is automatically emailed to you every week (usually on Monday)..
